My older son, E, has requested a new quilt. Here are some 4 patches coming together. There are about ~13 different fabrics going into this one. Most 1/2 yards from here or there that I've picked up thinking of him. A friend, quiltpixie, gave me a suggestion of just cutting up old panels to realy add to a scrappy non-symmetrical look. I am quite liking it! And my stash has been cut down a bunch too. For some reason, crowded shelves of fabric and yarn give clausterphobia, but emptier shelves show the potential and are purely inspiring to me.
She beat me! Above is a cherry blumbleberry lattice pie. An ongoing joke with a co-worker and I has led to a contest of, "Can you bake a pie before I can knit one?" I have yet to finish the crust on mine.

I came across this card and bought it just for the photo. I just love how unstaged it is. It is published by Persimmon Press, the Corbis/Hulton-Deutsch Collection by Pierre Belvedere.

I have my camera at work today so I though I would take a shot of my two loves this afternoon. My calculator and a twinkie. Yep, a calculator. Not a short-wave radio or antique PDA. Just perfect for the girl who needs to do linear regression on the go. Ya never know when you just haft to integrate polar ellipses or run a small script to solve a set of quadratics. Ahhh, some would never be without their lipstick, I would never be without my TI-92PLUS.

As I have blogged for a few years prioir to creating this new one, I am at a standstill in a way of which projects to mention. Some were really exciting but have tapered off in that respect, such as the wedding dress project (cut up, dyed, patchworked together, then gifted away as a wedding present to a friend). Some are still bringing fun, such as the mentioned teacup and lampshade story. And will crocheted glow-in-the-dark fishing lures every become stayed?
I have chosen a few projects I have handy to post on. These two currently hang in my office. Above is my first bargello, and my first fused applique project. The fused applique project has a fair amount of beading and sequining going on. The fabrics inthe bargello still make me drool.

So last night at yoga I saw a full boob and nipple.

This girl about ten years my junior (which puts me at almost 30), was decked out in lululemon's finest. As she was gearing up for the handstand pose, her boob fell out.

Now, if there was a boob to fall out, this would be the one. Perky. Fresh. Never lactated a day in its life.

She tucked it back in and did a more 'modified' forward-bend next time around. Just goes to show ya that a $60 yoga top may not be the best. I'll stick with my $20 vogue bra and cotton tank. Seems to keep my girls in place.

Some fun knitting projects of late...I had made the lampshade for my boss at work. Yes, he did enjoy it, as well as th humour. My new boss now (old one was promoted) told me it was, 'the most disturbing piece of interior design he'd ever seen.'
Oh really.
I knit him a teacup. This is not a teacup cozy, this is a teacup and saucer. Note the tea bag and biscuit on the side. I did caution him that while cotton is a good insulator, microwaveable, and absorbent, it is not wholly leakproof. It would be wise to be careful when using hot liquids, and to consume the beverage quickly before it leaked. While machine washable, I would hang to dry as the dryer might make it shrink. He laughed, and is now wise to calling my fibre arts 'disturbing.' He also said that it was NOT more disturbing than the lampshade cozy. Hmmm...the challenge remains...
